Pedestrian accident lawyer
Representing people on foot who were hurt by inattentive drivers.
A person on foot has no protection when a driver isn’t paying attention. The injuries are often serious, and the recovery is long.
Adrian Law Firm represents pedestrians hit in crosswalks, parking lots, driveways and on the street across Burbank, Los Angeles and Southern California. We deal with the driver’s insurer, make sure your medical care is documented, and pursue compensation for everything the crash has cost you.
Pedestrian accidents we handle
- Crosswalk crashes. Drivers must yield to pedestrians in marked and unmarked crosswalks (Vehicle Code § 21950).
- Turning drivers. Drivers who turn without looking for people crossing.
- Distracted drivers. Drivers on a phone without a hands-free setup (Vehicle Code § 23123).
- Parking lots and driveways. Drivers backing up or pulling out without checking.
- Hit-and-run. If the driver fled or had no insurance, the uninsured motorist coverage on your own auto policy may pay for your injuries.
What we do for you
- Handle the insurance companies. We talk to the adjusters so you don’t give a statement that can be used against you.
- Gather the evidence. Police report, photos, witnesses and the facts of how the crash happened.
- Get you treated. We make sure your injuries are treated and documented, now and in the future.
- Recover the full value. Pain and suffering, lost wages, past and future medical costs and other damages.
Compensation we pursue
- Pain & suffering
- Lost wages
- Past & future medical costs
- Lost or damaged property
- Other special damages

If you or a loved one needs the best personal injury attorney, this is your guy! Sometimes accidents happen and we have a lot to recover for — but it shouldn't cost you everything including your time. Dealing with insurance and everyone involved comes with a lot of confusion and headache.
With Scott — YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS!
I have nothing but high praises for Scott Adrian. Trustworthy, knowledgeable, efficient, quality and PROFESSIONAL! What a relief it is to have someone who listens and understands all your concerns. I couldn't recommend him more.
Got into an accident about June 2024. Someone blew a red light and t-boned another car that then hit me. Immediately called Scott and he got to work. Went through all the treatment and fast forward to June 2025 I received my settlement. After going back and forth with insurance Scott was able to negotiate a fair settlement amount that I am very pleased with. Amazing work. Highly recommended!
Questions about pedestrian accidents
Who pays if I was hit by a car while walking?
Usually the driver’s insurance company. If the driver fled or had no insurance, the uninsured motorist coverage on your own auto policy may pay for your injuries.
What if I wasn’t in a crosswalk?
You may still have a claim. California follows pure comparative negligence, so your compensation is reduced by any share of fault, not erased.
What compensation can I recover?
Depending on your case: pain and suffering, lost wages, past and future medical costs, lost or damaged property, and other special damages.
How long do I have to file a pedestrian accident claim?
In most California personal injury cases, a lawsuit must be filed within two years of the injury (Code of Civil Procedure § 335.1). If a city, county or state vehicle was involved, a written claim usually has to be filed with that agency within six months (Government Code § 911.2). Deadlines can differ, so it's best to call early. Your consultation is free.
