Truck & commercial vehicle accident lawyer

Collisions with commercial, delivery and city vehicles, and the insurers behind them.

When a work truck or city vehicle hits you, you are not just up against a driver. You are up against a company, its insurer, or a government agency.

Commercial cases have more moving parts: the driver, the company they drive for, the vehicle’s owner and their insurance carriers. Scott Adrian has taken on all of them, and those cases account for several of the firm’s largest results.

When a driver hurts someone while working, the company they drive for can be responsible too. If the vehicle belongs to a city, county or the state, strict claim deadlines apply, so call early.

Commercial vehicle crashes we handle

  • Company and work trucks. Pickup, box and utility trucks driven on the job.
  • Delivery vehicles. Vans and trucks on tight schedules in neighborhood traffic.
  • City and government vehicles. Including a $668,000 result for a rider hit by a city truck on the Angeles Crest Highway.
  • Commercial vehicles vs. motorcycles. Our two largest results: $1,000,000 and $850,000.

How we handle a commercial case

  1. Find every responsible party. The driver, the employer and the vehicle’s owner, along with each of their insurers.
  2. Meet the deadlines. Claims against a public agency usually must be filed within six months (Government Code § 911.2).
  3. Prove how it happened. Reconstruction experts, the Vehicle Code sections the driver broke, and the evidence to back them up.
  4. Count everything you lost. Medical care now and later, lost wages, property and pain and suffering.

Compensation we pursue

  • Pain & suffering
  • Lost wages
  • Past & future medical costs
  • Lost or damaged property
  • Other special damages

What our clients say

I met Scott at a bike night and several other motorcycle events before. Never thought I would ever have to use his services until I was involved in a hit and run accident. Glad I kept his contact information. This was easy because it was on a shirt he gave away at one of the events. Scott helped me with every step of the process from start to finish. He made sure I was taken care of medically on my road to recovery and was able to get me great compensation in the end. If you're involved in an accident call Scott at Adrian Law Firm. It doesn't hurt to ask. He's a fellow rider that understands us, very easy to talk to and gives back to the riding community.

Thanks again for your help and support Scott! It's nice to be back on two wheels.

Questions about truck & commercial vehicle accidents

Who is responsible when a company vehicle hits me?

The driver, and often the company they were driving for, since employers can be responsible for crashes their employees cause while working. The vehicle’s owner and each party’s insurer may also be involved.

What if a city or government vehicle hit me?

You can still bring a claim, but a written claim usually has to be filed with the agency within six months (Government Code § 911.2) before any lawsuit. Call us as soon as you can.

Have you handled cases against commercial vehicles?

Yes. Results include $1,000,000 (motorcycle vs. commercial vehicle, San Gabriel Valley), $850,000 (motorcycle vs. commercial vehicle, San Fernando Valley) and $668,000 (motorcycle vs. city truck, Angeles Crest Highway). Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

How long do I have to file a truck accident claim?

In most California personal injury cases, a lawsuit must be filed within two years of the injury (Code of Civil Procedure § 335.1). If a city, county or state vehicle was involved, a written claim usually has to be filed with that agency within six months (Government Code § 911.2). Deadlines can differ, so it's best to call early. Your consultation is free.
